Marcos Senna is considered to be one of the greatest midfielders to ever play the game of football. The Spanish-Brazilian championed the golden age of Spanish football, playing the 2006 World Cup and garnering tournament MVP honors at Euro 2008, under the command of Luis Aragones. In 2008, he was a finalist for FIFA’s Ballon d’Or.
In 2002, Marcos joined top Spanish side Villarreal from Copa Libertadores runner-up, Sao Caetano, which began his meteoric rise in European football. At present, he has over 325 appearances with the club, the most all-time in Villarreal history.
Saturday 14th of november 2015 , Marcos played the last match of his career at the age of 39, winning the NASL Championship final to add one last tittle to his career.
